We take your privacy very, very, incredibly extremely seriously and will , without exception, only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us.  We will not do naughty things with your information or, importantly, let others do naughty things with it.

However, from time to time and not more than once every 3 months, we would like to contact you with details about our other services and news about the happier things that happen in this wonderful world we live in.  So, if we ask for your permission to write to you, that is why. By the way, saying ‘No’ to that question is absolutely OK.

Bottom line is that you can trust us not to spam you with rubbish and to do all we can to keep your personal information safe.

What personal data do we hold about you?

That’s always a difficult one to answer and the truth that you should be told when you get an answer to this question is: “We don’t know”.

We know that we hold your personal details like your name, email, phone number, address, your event details and anything else you tell us.  We know that we don’t take credit cards so we don’t hold any of that sort of financial data. But we don’t know what the various tools and utilities that we have used to create our website, our email system, our browser are capturing about you.  Then there are the unknown unknowns – the unknown things that are grabbing an unknown amount of data about us all. We certainly don’t know what they are capturing about us. 🙁

Horrible, isn’t it?   But it’s the truth.

 

What personal data about you will we share?

Let us start by saying that everything we do will, unless you give us a very clear and separate permission to share,  be private between you and us. That’s because we hate our own personal data being taken for granted. Welcome to the Internet of the 1970s when it was safe to go swimming on the web …

Depending on what we do for you, we will ask for your permission to share the following;

  • Pictures and videos.  If we are given permission to take pictures or videos of you or the other people at your event , we will publish them to an online album and make it available to your privately, to to some people, all of your guests or publicly depending on your choice.
  • We will use the pictures we take for marketing purposes. We will only use pictures of under 16 year olds with their parents approval.
  • Your name and event details. We will probably ask if we could use your name and event details for our ongoing marketing. This may include using your name in a ‘congratulations’ section of our newsletter/website, creating a cartoon comic of something funny that happened at the wedding and maybe even ask you to sign the side of Tara’s house. Actually the trailer. Some people say no to this and ‘no’ is an absolutely fine answer!

We will never ever, ever, ever share your data with third party companies. No matter how much the offer to pay for it. Because it’s just not right to do so. You have our Pinkie-Promise over this. ‘Cross My Heart, Hope to Fly, Stick a Cupcake in my Eye!’

 

What third parties do you share our information with?

None.

 

Do you use cookies?

Yes. We use cookies.  

Does that make us evil? We would like to think not. You see, we use them to do things like make sure that you know what posts are new, to stop repeating messages coming up on every page, to know that you have filled in a form asking to be contacted etc.

We never, ever, knowingly pass cookies to other third parties and we don’t track what you do one you leave this website.  Why would we?

 

And finally, where do we store your personal data?

Stopping the bad people from getting hold of your personal data is a fetish of ours and we have identified all the locations where this information is stored.  

Here is the list;

  • Our website database that is hosted in the A2Hosting cloud in Amsterdam which fully supports the GDPR and US Privacy Shield regulations.
  • Our Google Business Suite (G-Suite) account. Google suite is fully compliant with GDPR.
  • Our CRM database hosted by Gmelius on their cloud servers in Switzerland which is fully compliant with GDPR.
  • Our private devices. We have a ‘Bring your own device’ policy and as such your contact details may be contained on multiple internet connected devices. By policy we do not allow those details to be downloaded locally to the device although we have no control of the data that the equipment manufacturer or software vendor decides to download to the device itself. To try and reduce the risk to your private information, we enforce strong encryption on all our storage ( fixed,, portable and mobile phone) and we have the ability to remotely and permanently delete the data on any of these devices.
